Good morning, Trench Sisters!
Happy March! In Chicagoland, March gives way to hope that the weather will finally turn warmer and Spring will com quickly. Of course, mother nature didn't seem to get this memo of spring hope today because the temperature has plummeted and the wind is whipping. Alas, I still have hope for the day when I can be outside without long underwear and there is a soft breeze coming through open windows.
Last week finished our February series - Best Friend Therapy and it did not end the way we had planned. Life is full of unexpected trenches and when you are a small team, all it takes is one getting sick for the plan to change. But you can always read and comment our Friendship stories on the website.
If you didn't get a chance yet, please read Jess's story about the woman she built a dear friendship with over the internet. It is possible to develop relationship even when we haven't met in person or live far away. Jess proves this in her loving tribute to her friend Joy.
This week begins our March series - Blended Tales. We have two authors this week lending their voices to grief as Kelsey shares about the heartache of multiple miscarriages and Britni shares about finding the balancing between grief & joy. These stories are a must read for those who are part of the grieving community or want to understand more about grief.
We are still looking for 2-4 more trench stories this month. We would love to hear from those who have battled addiction, survived abuse, in remission from cancer or struggling with mental illness. As always, ALL submissions are welcome. You can submit your story at www.storiesfromthetrenches.org/stories or email me with any questions at email@example.com.
NEW FACEBOOK GROUP
It's ready - our new Trench Community Facebook Group where you can engage, connect and interact with Trench Sisters. This group will be replacing our previous website forums but will continue to be a private group. For the next few months, you will be the only ones invited into this group. Request to join the Trench Community here. When you join, be sure to reread our terms and policies for the group.

Did you watch the Oscars last night? I have to admit that watching the Oscars is a yearly tradition for Tim and me. He likes to geek out on the audio stuff and I geek out on what everyone is wearing. We don't host a party - just the two of us in our pjs, drinking wine and critiquing an event that we will never attend. This year was particularly interesting with the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements and celebrity's speaking out more. If you watched it, what do you think? Also, feel free to share your favorite dress cause Jennifer Garner looked absolutely stunning.
