Good morning, Trench Sisters!
How are you doing mid-August? Ready for school to start and pumpkin flavors to be everywhere? The weather is changing already in Chicagoland and the autumn breeze has already begun. Before the chaos of another week begins I hope you had a chance to read Sarah's story about WildDunk Camping and Missy's heart about parenting her special needs son. You can head over the blog to still read, comment and encourage them or click on the links below.
STORIES AND FORUMS
Our August series - UnMet Expectations - continues this week with one of SFTT's editors, Amelia Bennett. Amelia has shared a couple stories with the community before but these new stories will resonate with many of us. You can also check out Amelia's website BookWife where Amelia helps writers of all types tell their stories.
Our forums are currently being reworked and revised. Previous topics, comments and questions are there for you to still participate as the team is working behind the scenes on a new forum direction.
Be sure to head to our Facebook page to watch my Facebook Live video from last night. I would love for you to comment, ask questions and engage with my new announcements.
NEEDS & OPPORTUNITIES
September will be here before you know it which means our new series - Mosaic - begins. We are currently looking for women to share their trench stories for our Mosaic series. We hope to offer a beautiful blend of trench stories and know you have a story to share. You can get started on the Submit a Story page of the website.
With several of our team needing to step away for big life happenings, I could sure use some new volunteers. Do you have a heart for women, stories and helping others? We have several volunteer needs that can be seen on our volunteer page or send me an email with any questions.

12 year old birthday party was a success! She enjoyed 24 hours of fun with three of her best friends. My heart is pretty content watching her smile surrounded by such sweet friends. My kid sure knows how to pick the best ones which makes this Momma proud. Also makes me worry a little less as she heads into another year of middle school (which was some of my least favorite school years). Do you have middle schoolers? How are you faring?
Hi I am Sarah, a 40-something year old mom to two amazing boys, ages 18 and 15. My husband and I have been together for over 20 years. We have 3 pawsome dogs: Loki (GSD), Neo (Beagle) and Mojo (JRT). In 2005, we moved from Birmingham to rural South Wales and have never looked back, but life hasn’t been an easy climb for us.
Finding Grace in Parenting
Why aren't you swimming, Colton?” I said as Colton is kicking his legs and bobbing his head in and out of the water. “What is wrong with you? They're not going to believe that you can swim if you keep touching the ground, Colton!
